If you are reading this, you are probably on a journey of overwhelming
decisions and transitions. At Berard's Country Home we would like to
help you with those transitions.

My name is Sue, I am a Registered Nurse and I have been working in
the hospital setting for over 20 years helping bring new life into the
world as a labor and delivery nurse. In my many years of hospital
nursing, I have assisted moms in a gentle and caring fashion through
their labor experience. I have rejoiced with them in their joy of new life
and cried with them in their deep sorrow of loss.

Over the past year I have felt a spiritual pull to turn my gift of
compassion towards the terminally ill. It is my desire to help families
through the end of life process as gently and peacefully as possible.

Our family has a beautiful 100 year old country house
that we want to share with the terminally ill and their
families. We have designated two large bedrooms of
our home for that purpose. They are both bright and
airy. One bedroom has a queen sized bed as an
option for couples that want to remain together.

Our home sits on three acres of natural beauty with
apple trees and gardens to grow our own food. We
avoid using preservatives in our food preparation and
make most of our meals from scratch.

During rocky times, I want to be an anchor of support for you and
your family. I want to be the "calm" in the midst of your "storm" to
graciously guide your loved one through their final days and provide a
release for the caregiver as well.

Our hope is that you will find our accommodations a
pleasant alternative with care, comfort, compassion,
and a whole lot of family love as our main goal in
guiding you through this difficult time. We will work
together with the individual, family, hospice and
anyone else that would benefit you. Respite care is
also available.
